Sponsored by Cedar Valley Catholic Evangelization Outreach
The Catholic Witness Hour takes place every other month in a local parish. The Witness Hour includes a short witness talk by a local individual who has experienced God's presence and love in their lives and wishes to share it with others. Hearing another person's experience helps us recognize how God has been active in our own lives and can motivate us to share our experience with others who are searching for an experience of God's presence in their own lives.
Each Witness Hour includes a free supper, which is available before, during or after the witness talk. The Witness Hour is free and open to adults and young adults of all ages. Pre-registration is not required. Invite a friend, neighbor or co-worker to join you to hear a message of faith and hope.

Every person has a story about faith and how God is acting in their life. Hearing others tell their story helps us recognize our own and encourages us to share our story with others. Participation in Catholic Evangelization Outreach can help you deepen your faith and share it with others.
Here are some suggestions on how to share your story of faith:
• Nurture personal and spiritual friendships. Friendship is the original model of evangelization; it
establishes mutual trust and respect.
• Particiapte regularly in the spiritual and sacramental life of the Catholic faith community.
• Pray for God's people, and in particular for the people Jesus is trying tor each this day. Make
evangelization a part of your prayer at every Mass.
• Become more aware of your own story. As part of your daily or weekly Examen, identify the ways in
which God is working day-by-day in your life. Remember and be grateful for the extraordinary ways
in which God has been present in your life.
• Share your story. Depite how ordinary you think it is, people will relate to your journey and be
inspired by it if you share it in an appropriate way at the appropriate time. Keep in mind that while
details are interesting, what is important is how your experience has changed your life.
• Attend the Catholic Witness Hour regularly. Hearing others share their faith helps us recognize how
God is working in our own lives. But remember that every person's story is unique; God works in
different ways in different people. Your story may be similar to those you hear at the Witness Hour
or it may be very different -- it is your story.
• Volunteer to get involved in Catholic Evangelization Ministry. We need volunteers in each parish to
help plan and implement the Witness Hour.
